Summer 2016 Update

Thanks for reading and keeping us in prayer. Let us know how we can pray for you!

New Role: GTIS Training Coordinator

Loren's primary goal is to equip missionaries with technology that helps them get their work done. Now, he gets to help over 70 GTIS specialists (Global Technology and Information Services) develop training and “marketing” for their custom services including email, virus protection, power systems, communication tools, remote PC support, and lots more.
Fun team [communication] building activities.

2016 Planning

Have you ever walked down the lighting aisle in a home improvement store setting off the motion sensors? New ideas were popping up just like that last week when Loren's seven team members from Ottawa, Orlando, Texas, and Tennessee came to JAARS. We met and prayed with GTIS directors and managers to set new goals to bring our tools and services to our global organization. GOD IS SO GOOD!

Cars, Co-op, Clinic, and College

This has been a HUGE season of change in lives of our two young men. Both got their driver’s licenses in May and now have jobs at Harris Teeter grocery store. Zack is officially an Eagle Scout and Matthew should complete his project next week. We plan to have an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for both of them in October.

Michelle and Zack have one more year at INSPIRE home school co-op. Michelle will teach high school biology and human anatomy. Michelle is now able to serve three half days a week at the JAARS Health Clinic.

Matthew is excited to start Southern Piedmont Community College in August earning his associate degree in computer science.
These are charts at the JAARS Clinic from the past 10 years (of 50). They remind us of the blessing we have to serve thousands around the world!

Serving the Church

On Father’s Day, together with First Baptist Church of Matthews, we served residents of Plantation Estates in the medical unit. Loren gave a devotional message and Michelle played the flute.

Wilmington ♥ Waxhaw

It was fun visiting the “Ever 49ers” at Pine Valley UMC (Loren’s mom’s church in Wilmington, NC). Michelle played flute, accompanied by our pianist friend, Pat Harriman, at their monthly dinner fellowship. The 49ers are coming to JAARS Day on October 8, so they asked us to give a quick update so they could be praying for our ministry. We praise God for their encouragement and partnership!

Fixer Uppers

Our family needs transportation more than ever! Thanks for praying that our 12-24 year old cars keep running. When they do break down, though, it helps to have VIP status at the salvage yard!
