Merry Christmas and blessings for 2016

If a man from the future had shown up at our door
and told us of the blessings this year had in store,

We wouldn’t have believed this prophet’s prediction,
but the year has passed and it’s fact, not fiction.

First God surprised us in finding a new home,
across the street from JAARS - not far to roam.

Michelle’s parents and Loren’s dad both followed suit;
buying homes nearby with little commute.

Nine of our family gathered for summer vacation,
we swam with dolphins and stingrays on location!

The kids are still growing, the shoes sizes are scary;
they’re taller than us, and (unlike Dad) quite hairy.

Two juniors in high school - the bar has been raised;
writing and reading until their eyes are all glazed.

Graduation is in view followed by plans for a degree.
SAT and CLEP test will give us clarity.

Zack’s in the last stretch to be an Eagle Scout.
Matthew is close behind and will prevail no doubt.

Matthew loves tech and with plants has green hands!
Zack drums and strums in two church bands.

Nine wisdom teeth gone and the van has cold air;
our bodies and cars always need care.

Working at the clinic is surely Michelle’s passion,
but being wife and mom never goes out of fashion.

Loren helps missionaries with technology near and far;
he teaches them in person and in online seminars.

‘Tis the season for music and decking the halls;
celebrating the Christ Child is the meaning of it all.

God’s Son lived on earth a sinless, pure man
to give us salvation, that was His plan.

If we surrender our hearts and take His free gift,
there is life everlasting and our burdens He’ll lift.

Our family wishes you all Chistmas cheer
and may 2016 be an abundantly blessed new year!

Loren, Michelle, Matthew and Zack
