Experiencing Christmas Around the World
Hundreds of kids grades K-6 and their parents attended JAARS’ 7th annual “Passport to Christmas” program on December 9 and 10. This year, the adventure reached Ethiopia, Philippines, and Nepal. They experienced the beauty of the people, their language, and culture. Most importantly, they learned the real adventure is in sharing God's love shown through the Christ Child.

Orlando and Dallas Trips

Loren got to visit tech support colleagues in Orlando and Dallas to share and learn what makes our teams more productive and unified. Both trips resulted in great new ideas for managing resources and staying connected. Don’t tell anyone, but he said that being there in person was so much better than Skype! ;)

Seek and They Will Find

Loren is part of an upgrade for Wycliffe’s internal website making it easier for our members to find technical help, organizational information, and more. Our Asia IT services got a sneak peek and already look forward to using it to store and share their information. Pray for a smooth transition and that the system will be a success in helping our members get the information they need.

JAARS Health Clinic

Prayers answered for Michelle and the JAARS Clinic! God sent us the general practitioner we've been praying for - Dr. Lee Thomas. Dr. Reid, our dermatologist is available every week now. Brenda Young, our PA, sees patients weekly and Dr. Susan Andersen comes twice a month. We even have enough nurses for each doctor! Our immunization services are not only being used by Wycliffe / JAARS members and volunteers but also several local churches going on mission trips.  Please contact us if we can help your church's mission teams.
Missionaries and volunteers at First Baptist Church of Matthews (our sending church) came to share what God is doing in their ministries. This included dozens of missions local, national, and international, - they even have church planters in Boston and Rome! We were so encouraged to see the fruit that God is bringing through them!
Rothmann Eagle Scouts
Our hearts were full of thanks celebrating our boys' Eagle Scout achievements. We were blessed to have dozens of friends and family members attend the ceremony. It's been a privilege to be in Scouting for 11 years serving God, the Troop, and our community.  Matthew turned 18 and has aged out of Scouting, but Zack is still serving as patrol leader.

Be Still and Know I Am God

Michelle and I enjoyed a refreshing weekend near Columbia, SC at a retreat center off the beaten path - no TV or Internet! The Hebrew words for ‘still waters’ in Psalm 23:2b are “Mai Menochot”, meaning literally, “restful waters”.  Our Shepherd wants to lead us to a place of rest, a place of trust, a place of confidence, a place where you rely on Him and focus on Him without anything that will distract you.  He wants to take the “heavy load” from your life and replace it with His everlasting peace and rest! We pray that you will find that even in the busyness of this season.

Prayer and Praise

  • Praise God for protecting Zack in an auto accident and providing a safer replacement car
  • Pray for Matthew’s time management in college.
  • Pray for Zack to finish well in high school.
  • Pray for wisdom whether Michelle should tutor middle and high school science classes in our home.
  • Praise that boys’ jobs at Harris Teeter are going well giving them great experience, skills and references.
  • Pray our financial support as we deal with medical bills, old cars, and insurance increases.
  • Praise for health & energy to serve Him well in 2016!
