Quick Rothmann Update … from JAARS!

June 20, 2012

Loren – “a man of many headsets” – taking calls at the JAARS computer Help Desk.
Loren loves his job on the Help Desk. It has been a perfect place to jump in and learn the technology that helps missionaries with Bible translation. Loren takes calls and emails to help with email issues, software installation, hardware replacement, and more. He has helped people in Thailand, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Tanzania and yes… Waxhaw!

Think you’re past the curve for learning new technology?  Loren works with several members 80+ who are learning Windows 7 and Office 2010. It’s so encouraging to work with people with a strong passion for God’s call on their lives.

*Pray for the IT department. We have over 150 unfilled positions. This is one reason Loren’s assignment in knowledge management is so important. When we share information within and among our departments, we expedite the work to get God’s Word into the hands of 340 million people who still need it.

After Loren’s first week at JAARS it became evident that we need to move closer to Waxhaw.  Loren and Michelle will be working different hours and two people commuting 45min both ways is just too much.  God blessed us with a realtor whose parents are JAARS missionaries.  Bonnie has already been such a blessing! Most of you can empathize with the moving process and we appreciate your prayers!

*Pray for our house to sell and for the perfect house for us in or near Waxhaw.

ready to sell with a little elbow grease!

Loren and Michelle took CPR & First Aid training at JAARS this month.  It is required for Michelle to work in the clinic and great for Loren to have for all areas of life (especially with two teenage boys). Once we have moved closer to the JAARS center, Michelle hopes to work 2 or three mornings a week in the clinic. This week Michelle is getting her first hours in the clinic as Loren and the boys are away at Boy Scout Camp and she is free to be at JAARS. The clinic is VERY busy this time of year as many community groups are going on summer mission trips and need immunizations and preventative medications for diseases like malaria, hepatitis and yellow fever. Stay tuned for updates there!

*Pray for the clinic as they are in need of providers – Doctors, Physician’s Assistants and or Nurse Practitioners.

Love and Blessings to you,

Loren and Michelle Rothmann
