What's Michelle Up to?
JAARS Health Clinic
Michelle is very happy that our boys are handling their schoolwork more independently. This gives her time to serve at the JAARS Clinic.
The clinic serves over 600 missionaries and volunteers. They have three doctors (two short-term until May) and a dermatologist that sees patients two days a month. They provide physicals (including the FAA requirement for pilots), blood work, immunizations and minor medical care at little or no cost to members and volunteers. Churches and other organizations going overseas can also make appointments with the JAARS Clinic to get immunizations prior to overseas trips.
Our doctors fill prescriptions for missionaries in locations who do not have access to medicine. We arrange shipping but sometimes, due to the remote location of the missionary, packages have to be hand-carried.

Homeschooling
Homeschooling is still Michelle’s primary ministry. Matthew and Zack are in 9th grade taking English, Literature, Algebra, Biology, and Government & Economics. On Tuesday mornings, we attend a homeschool co-op along with several other families. Michelle teaches Biology for six 9th graders. Other moms teach areas they are gifted in. The help and socialization are great blessings!

Making a joyful noise unto the Lord
Michelle enjoys playing flute at Sunday evening vesper services at JAARS where they hear how God is working through missions around the world. She also enjoys playing for other JAARS events and for Plantation Estates retirement community on the Sundays when Loren brings a message there. She feels very blessed to have opportunities to play for groups around Charlotte, and even in Wilmington, NC.

Tech Tours
Well in addition to technical documentation, knowledge management and help desk, occasionally, Loren is blessed to show people what God is doing at JAARS. A group from a Korean Presbyterian Church in Toronto, Canada drove to JAARS for a week of volunteering. Loren toured them around his department, Global Technology and Information Services, showing them all the ways God is using technology to bless Bible translation.

"Passport to Christmas”
Loren loves being a part of the "Passport to Christmas" event at JAARS! The kids have a great time exploring languages and cultures around the world through stories, crafts, and foods. They get to have their photo taken in the “pilot seat”, and see how the JESUS Film is dubbed into hundreds of languages.
Passport to Christmas is a great way to celebrate God’s gift of Christ for people around the world. If your family or your church's children’s programs would like to attend, please contact Beth Mersfelder: 704-843-6506.

- Michelle is able to work in the JAARS Clinic! Pray that the boys will continue to work independently so that she is able to keep working.
- Loren is still working with the Google migration for JAARS. Pray for the teams involved to have wisdom and perseverance.
- Pray for our family to remain strong in the Lord in a very busy season of life. Please pray for Matthew and Zack to have hearts that beat for the Lord!
